Compassion Center

At Words To Works Ministries we recognize the many needs of our community and strive to help meet them. One of our outreaches is our Compassion Center, located behind North Main Street Baptist Church. Open from 9-12 on Tuesdays and Saturdays, this is a resource for those who need food, clothing and prayer. We believe that the “give away” mentality has hurt our community and therefore we usually charge a nominal fee for all items. For those who have no money, we offer them to opportunity to work for them ~ sweeping, picking up litter, cleaning. Dignity and a sense of self-worth is found in work, and this is a philosophy that we are trying to reinforce in our community.

We are always in need of items for this ministry: canned and boxed foods of all types, including baby formula; clean clothing items, especially shoes, large sizes for men, children items, and new socks and underwear. Please be selective as to what used-clothing you donate. Polyester suits, stained items, broken zippers and lost buttons ~ these only use up valuable space.

This is a true evangelism opportunity. It is a gentle atmosphere that allows time to connect with people and share with them the Good News. God moves in this building and draws to it many broken hearts. This may well be the harvest field to which He calls you!
