About Us Washington Heights Inner-City Church Plant
Washington Heights is one of the many multi-family complexes in Jacksonville. It had been tagged one of the more dangerous complex, with over 1,400 police call a month. But since we started ministering there, those calls have been cut in half, a number still too high but trending in the right direction. God is on the move!!!
Every Saturday Pastor Pat is there, ministering to the children. He plays with them, he listens to them, he tells them about Jesus. His desire is that others come alongside him, giving their time, their love to these children but too often he is there alone.
On Sundays Pastor Pat brings a van-load of children to attend services at North Main Street Baptist Church. He can't bring all that want to come because he doesn't have room, nor does he have enough Sunday School teachers to lead them.
On Thursday evenings Pastor Pat holds an adult Bible study at the Community Center in Washington Heights. He knocks on doors inviting people to come. Sadly, while doing so he often meets people who need immediate ministry but he is alone and must get to the Bible study where others are waiting.
Pastor Pat sure could use some help! He invites you to join him on Saturday afternoon with the children, to lead crafts, to play games, to share the love of Christ. He invites you to come to teach a class at North Main Street Baptist Church, to fill these children with the Word of God. Membership is not required, just a passion for the Lord. He invites you to join the Bible study as a mature Christian who can help disciple new Christians, the parents and children who long to know more.
Whether you are a group or an individual, as long as you have a heart for the lost, you will find a place in this special focused outreach. Won't you prayerfully consider serving in this ministry? Whether weekly or quarterly, your labor is needed in the field! You will find this ministry impacts you in a mighty way.
